Here are some things you might find handy if you plan on using the new Windows 10.

 
1. Its free (For Most People) – Assuming your computer is running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 or Windows 8.1, Windows 10 is a free upgrade within the first year of its release.

 
2. Upgrade Via Windows Update – Microsoft created a “Get Windows 10” application that prompts you to “reserve” your copy. You’ll see those notifications in your system tray if you use Windows 7SP1 or 8.1.

 
3. What’s New –
a. The charms bar is gone
b. The Pop-Up Start Menu is back – it has live tiles, but you can delete those if you like
c. “Modern” Interface is now only on tablets
d. Windows Store – Microsoft is pushing their store to build a large platform that app developers will want to target
